“As you start the European Youth Parliament at an early age, it has an impact on many things you do. The EYP teaches you to be yourself, be brave, to make up your mind, to speak up, to raise your voice and to be independent.”
“Being a citizen can start from really small things – from expressing yourself, forming an opinion and making sure your opinion is heard. And then also listening to others. It’s about taking responsibility for what you are doing and caring for the people around you. In EYP, we live this every day.”

“Being part of the European Youth Parliament has taken me on a life-changing journey. I have made incredible friends with people from all across the continent, learned about some of the most pressing issues of today, and above all been inspired by what happens when young people care to act and help others to do so, too.”
The European Youth Parliament is one of the largest European platforms for political debate, intercultural encounters, European civic education and the exchange of ideas for young people in Europe. Since its founding in 1987, hundreds of thousands of young people have taken part in national, regional and international EYP sessions, built friendships across borders and learnt useful skills.
The EYP network is active in 40 countries across Europe
More than 30,000 young people, including 3,500 volunteers, take part in EYP events every year
Over 500 EYP events are organised every year across Europe (at local, national and international levels)
Since 1987, the number of EYP alumni has grown to over 200,000
